FBWL, Hand Style #13
By Daniel V. Licht (@thedvl) Hand Style by Sabrina Parada
Today we have a guest handstyler (like that … just made it up). Zemoga Art/UX Director Sabrina Parada. Here’s what she has to say about her wicked fancy script work.
“I like doodling around with ornaments and letters, trying to do stylish delicate forms. Retro style too comes as an inspiration, so I tried to put a little in the linear “shading” of the letters. From a distance it reads like “flower”, but not quite, so when you look at it for the second time, then you see the actual letters from FBWL. I think you don’t need to read what is says because the forms make it look good from any angle.” Take that flat, modern, computer fonts!!!
Have a great day and check back again when your’s truly will once again lay down they pen to paper for your enjoyment.
Announcing the Winners of Our Thanksgiving Card Design Contest!

Another year has gone by, and Thanksgiving is once again upon us. It’s a time for family, friends, and solemn appreciation for the things that we sometimes take for granted (it’s also a time for getting loaded on carbs and beating the Black Friday crowds!). Since Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays, we wanted to do it right: we gave our creative department 2 days to come up with a kickass card design using Zemoga’s official brand style and colors. All the entries were amazing, which made it hard to pick just one. Congrats to the contest winners, Camilo Florez and Alejandra Molano, for coming up with the winning designs that we combined to make the final Thanksgiving card!
Here are the Top 10 Things We’re Thankful For here at Zemoga:
1. Held off on creating Google Wave development group.
2. Pardo “won” his bullfight
3. Activision waited till November to release CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS.
4. DJ didn’t seriously injure the sword swallower at our office warming party.
5. Our cool new NYC and San Francisco offices.
6. Crepes and Waffles (Alejo made us put this one in)
7. The iPad.
8. Our NYC offices are still a five minute walk from SHAKE SHACK
9. Facebook hasn’t changed its interface in at least two weeks.
What are you thankful for this year? Let us know!
Recap: World Usability Day
By Briana Campbell (@MsMatchGirl)
We’ve written a couple of times about the Colombian leg of World Usability Day – partly coordinated by the Zemoga’s own Natalia Vivas (above, left). Not only was the Z-team involved in a big way – bringing to light the importance of everyone having access to what so many people take for granted – but several of our staffers attended.
So? What did they think about it?
FBWL, Hand Style #5
By Daniel V. Licht (@thedvl)
Ask anyone, seriously, anyone and they will tell you I love Zombies. So naturally when Sven brought in some of the first TPB of The Walking Dead, I was hooked. After 12 volumes we now have the AMC series, which if you haven’t watched you should. If you like Zombies or not, it’s a great show about people doing what they need to do to survive. So in honor of the comic and the show, here is #5 of our hand style. Hope you enjoy and find them just a little creepy. Sorry for the lateness, but hey, Zombies are most active at night.
